The DARE study is for premenopausal women who experience Female Sexual Arousal Disorder (FSDA). FSDA is a common condition that makes it difficult for women to reach or maintain a sufficient physical stimulation. If you suspect you have FSAD, you may qualify to participate in a new clinical study. The study is for an investigational cream intended to treat FSAD and used in the privacy of your home.
If you qualify and decide to participate, you will be in the study for about 5 months and visit the study site up tp 7 times and your partner will join you for 3 of these visits. The first 2 visits will be about a week apart to review symptoms and medical history. A pelvic exam will also be performed at each visit. A month later you will receive the study medication to be used at home. Once a month you will return to the study site over the next 4 months for the doctor to preform the standard pelvic exams and to fill out health questionnaires. There is a 1 in 2 chance of receiving the placebo in place of the investigational cream. A placebo looks just like the investigational cream, but has no active ingredient.
The study is randomized, meaning assignment to the treatment you receive is random. Neither you, nor the study doctor or staff will know which study treatment you will receive.
The first PDF will answer frequently asked questions.
The second PDF will talk more about why you should participate if you qualify.
