The SKYLARK STUDY is a research study evaluating an investigational oral medication to see if it reduces symptoms of severe postpartum depression (PPD). The investigational oral medication is thought to act by affecting chemicals in the brain that influence mood.

If you qualify and decide to participate, you will be in the study for up to 76 days and visit the study site about 9 times. The study includes 3 parts, Screening which takes up to 28 days, Treatment with a duration of 14 days, and a Follow-Up of about 34 days. There is a 1 in 2 chance of receiving the placebo instead of the other treatment. A placebo looks like the investigational medication but does not contain any active medicine.

This study in randomized, meaning assignment to a study treatment is random and you will not know which study treatment you will receive.
